After 2,000 hours and more than 60 prototypes, we're excited to launch the Leesa Legend Hybrid mattress, featuring a dual hybrid individually wrapped spring system—the first of its kind to be compressed and shipped in a box direct to your door—and the luxury of a natural cover made from organic cotton and merino wool, providing an elevated sleeping experience and a better night’s rest.
But what makes the Leesa Legend Hybrid so legendary? And how is it different than our award-winning Leesa Sapira Hybrid and Leesa Original mattresses? We're answering all of your questions (and helping you get better rest, too!).
What is a hybrid mattress?
First, let's talk about what makes a mattress "hybrid."
Our Leesa Original mattress is not a hybrid mattress. Instead, it's a multilayer, all-foam mattress, made of three layers:
- The top, Comfort layer is made from exclusive, breathable foam for hug, bounce and cooler night's sleep
- The middle, Memory Foam Recovery layer provides body contouring and pressure-relief for your back, hips and shoulders.
- The bottom, Support layer of foam provides signature support for all sleeping styles and body types.
The Leesa Original has what we call our Universal Adaptive Feel®, making it a great option for every sleeping style from side sleepers, to stomach sleepers to back sleepers.
The Leesa Sapira Hybrid mattress combines the awesome all-foam benefits of the Leesa Original with a wrapped spring system. This is what makes it a hybrid mattress—the premium foam layers and individually wrapped spring layer work together to provide advanced comfort and extra support.
The Sapira Hybrid's top layer, the Comfort layer, is hole-punched, premium foam for that awesome hug and bounce you want in your mattress. The next layer is the Memory Foam Recovery layer, just like the one found in the Leesa Original, that provides body contouring and pressure-relief on your hips, back and shoulders. The next layer is where the Sapira Hybrid differs from the Original: the Leesa Sapira Hybrid's bottom layer is made of 1,000+ active response individually wrapped springs for edge-to-edge support, durability, and motion isolation.
So, let's recap:
An all-foam mattress is just that! It's all-foam makeup provides comfort and support while you sleep.
A hybrid mattress gives you the benefits of memory foam with the extra support of springs. The foam + spring technology makes it a "hybrid" mattress.
What is a dual hybrid mattress?
So, what makes the Leesa Legend Hybrid a dual hybrid mattress? First, let's take a closer look at the layers in the Leesa Legend.
Under the Leesa Legend cover (which you can read all about here—it's awesome!), the Legend Hybrid features the same awesome Comfort layer (layer 2, above) found in the Leesa Sapira Hybrid, made from hole-punched, high-quality foam that sleeps cool and offers hug and bounce. The next layer you'll also recognize from the Leesa Sapira Hybrid mattress: a Memory Foam Recovery Layer (layer 3, above) that provides enhanced body contouring to relieve pressure on your hips and back.
The Legend Hybrid's Dual Hybrid Individually Wrapped Spring System
Together, the next two layers are what elevate the Leesa Legend Hybrid mattress. The bottom Quick Response layer (layer 5, above) features the same individually wrapped spring system as the Leesa Sapira Hybrid, with 1,000+ individually wrapped springs for edge-to-edge support. This is one of the two individually wrapped spring layers in the Leesa Legend Hybrid (hint: its two layers of springs is what makes it a "dual" hybrid!).
The Relief and Stability layer (layer 4, above), exclusive to the Leesa Legend Hybrid is the second of the dual hybrid wrapped spring system. It's made up of micro-springs and exclusive, high-quality foam. The micro-springs provide targeted pressure relief for your hips and shoulders, which is where many sleepers need it most, while the foam in the Relief and Stability layer does exactly what its name implies—it stabilizes and virtually eliminates motion transfer.
Together with the Leesa Legend Hybrid's high-quality foam layers, the dual hybrid wrapped spring system provides our most advanced support and durability for a truly elevated, one-of-a-kind sleeping experience.
Which mattress is right for me?
Now you may be wondering, "Which mattress is right for me?" "Is a hybrid mattress better than a foam mattress?" The right mattress for you depends on your preferred sleeping style (side, back or stomach) and your body type. If you're ready for a new mattress, but aren't sure where to start, we've got your back.
